Your fishing reel is like your personal partner, your own personal tool to have a successful fishing trip. When you think about it, every time you go fishing, you take your partner, (the fishing reel) with you. You want your partner ready when you are. Taking good care of your fishing reels should be a priority. We all have checkups, but when was the last time your trusty reel was cleaned, lubed, adjusted and fixed?  We totally understand because we are a family of fisherman that comes from many generations of fishing adventures and experience. We take personal pride in every fishing reel we repair because we have a passion for the industry. We want you to enjoy your fishing experiences, without any worries or aggravations from your fishing reels. It doesn’t matter if your favorite reel is old or new, we work on all makes and models. It’s important to always give your reels the best maintenance you can. We want you to feel confident each and every time you fish. We will take good care of your reels and treat them as if they were are own. Proper maintenance is extremely important to your equipment.  We put our personal touch on every fishing reel we work on. From the moment we receive your reel, we quickly and efficiently diagnose and fix your fishing reels as fast as we can.  The Reel Thing, has developed a list of standard operating procedures to make all of our customers feel relaxed and confident when having us work on your reels.

1.     100% Satisfaction guaranteed before, during and after our transaction period.

2.     We charge a standard labor rate of $15.00 dollars per hour, plus parts. It usually takes about 1 hour to totally disassemble a reel, completely hand clean and remove the old lubricants and then put back together with new parts if needed and lubricate.

3.     We follow all major reel manufacturers routine required maintenance procedures using extreme performance synthetic lubricants produced by Mil-Comm.

4.     We will bench test all fishing reels before they are returned to our customers too simulate actual fishing conditions. Then and only then, it is approved by one of our technicians for you to enjoy.

5.     We offer a 30 day guarantee on all new parts installed and workmanship due to our maintenance.

6.     We do not sell parts. If you send us your fishing reel we will do our best to fix it. Please understand that all parts for reels are not available.

7.     In the event you decide to not repair your reel due to cost or lack of replacement parts, your reel will be shipped back to you disassembled.

8.     All customers who send us your reels must download and complete a reel repair form and include a $10.00 deposit that will be used towards shipping cost and labor charges. (Please print our reel repair form above.)

9.     10% off all reel repairs during the months November- February.

10.   All orders that are shipped, we recommend insurance.

 In many cases we come across fishing reels that are in need of parts that are no longer available. In some situations we are able to make bail springs and other parts or modify parts to make your fishing reel work as good as purchased if not better. We carry a large selection of old, hard to find vintage parts from various manufactures. We will do are best to thoroughly inspect and diagnose your fishing reels problem and fix it, if possible. We usually have a 10 day turn around time on most reels, but it may take longer if we have to find and order parts. Please be reassured that we will try or best to get your fishing reels done, quickly as possible.

    The cost for shipping will vary, depending on total weight, shipping location, amount of insurance and sometimes the dimension of the box. Customers can also drop off their fishing reels if you live in the area or will be driving thru the Green Bay area.
